Retailer information system training
Why
is training important for corporate goal achievement?
"The world is changing" is a common phrase today; however, it is not common what most companies have to do to stay and even excel in this changing world, and it is precisely at this point that we should consider the most important element in a company: employees.
Company personnel, ranging from the top management to support positions, influences company definition, identification, growth, and development; global technological growth rests not only on technology itself, but on the personnel who implements it every day.
In my personal experience, I have witnessed the transformation of two retailers that despite their similarities, they are completely different; despite the obvious differences between a supermarket and a department store, their major difference is their people. However, both companies face the same challenge: competitor growth, best practice development, and therefore, the introduction to technological systems that support each basic operational process. Consequently, personnel training has stopped being a requirement to be met by Human Resources, and it is now an essential need to be met if we are to continue operating and achieving results; therefore, it is necessary to change the training process so that it can evolve at the pace we also want the same operation to respond.
Information system training for retailers has stopped being a "nice to have" element to become a "must have" element. Nevertheless, we should point out that what is important is not technology itself; technology is just a means; what is important is to integrate technology into the operating systems with a resulting cultural change and the benefits we expect, the best practice, efficiency, quality: permanence.
