The Center of the Cooperativism Studies and Training (CENECOOP R.L) launches its Cooperativism eLearning Program for Costa Rican Students
Approved by the Costa Rican Ministry of Education (MEP) through out the Department of School Cooperatives
San José, Costa Rica, June 27th, 2005
As the organization responsible for cooperativism training and education in Costa Rica, on July 1 st CENECOOP R.L will launch its Cooperativism e-Learning Program for Costa Rican students. This national impact program was developed by the e-Learning leading provider Aura Interactiva under the supervision of the Costa Rican Ministry of Education (MEP) through out the Department of School Cooperatives.
“This project is part of a constitutional politic defined by CENECOOP’s Executive Direction and Administration Council in order to support and promote cooperativism among middle and high school students. Our aim is to promote the formation of school cooperatives in a new generation educated according to the cooperativism identity. This e-Learning solution is 2.5 hours length and through its 3 modules, it explores our principles, values, history and the cooperativism model in Costa Rica,” mentioned Floribeth Venegas, CENECOOP Administration Council President.
“We wanted to take advantage of the new technologies to train a very disperse student population in cooperativism and in a short period of time while fulfilling the 6347 law. We took the printed guides used by the Department of School Cooperatives and transformed them into an electronic training solution with a high level of interactivity that allows children to learn in a very new and effective way” said Stéfano Arias, CENECOOP R.L Executive Director.
According to Arias, with the pilot plan, CENECOOP trained more than 15,000 kids in 3 months and the number keeps growing. This fact proves the tool’s big implementation scalability. “Other important benefits to use this e-Learning tool are: training cost reduction, flexibility to deploy our training to disperse zones at the same time, reducing traveling expenses and the high level of motivation showed by the students” he added.
“This project has been a great challenge for us because we had to develop a pedagogic training solution that fulfilled CENECOOP and the Costa Rican Ministry of Education requirements. Our solution has been validated by different types of specialists and audiences such as pedagogues, docents, and children, among others. We are sure of the significant value we are giving to the Costa Rican students, and we are proud of being part of this project that will allow us to enhance the cooperativism principles and values.” said Randolf Kissling, Aura Interactiva CEO.
The Launch event will be held on July 1 st at 10 a.m at the Edificio Cooperativo Auditory, San Pedro de Montes de Oca, San José, Costa Rica.
